How can we help?
Answers to the common questions. If yours isn't here, write to us and a person will reply.
Playing
How is my reaction time measured?
From the screen frame the cue appears on to the moment your finger touches the glass, using the touch's own timestamp. ProMotion iPhones show the cue at 120 Hz, so it lands sooner. Your score for a run is the median, so one lucky or unlucky tap doesn't decide it.
What counts as a jump start?
Tapping before the cue, or less than 100 ms after it. Nobody reacts that fast; under 100 ms is a guess, the same rule sprint starts use.
What's a good time?
Most people start between 250 and 300 ms. Pro drivers react in about 200 ms. Under 180 ms is Beyond.
The Daily Grid
When does a new Daily Grid open?
Every day at 00:00 UTC. The Home screen counts down to it in your local time.
Why can I only play it once?
Every player gets the exact same five starts, so the scores are only fair if everyone gets one try. The attempt counts from the first light; leaving mid-run is a DNF.
How is the Daily Grid scored?
The median of your clean starts, plus 100 ms for each jump start. With fewer than three clean starts, it's a DNF.
Friends and Game Center
How do I see my friends' times?
Sign in to Game Center in Settings › Game Center. Friends who play GridReady appear on the Friends tab in Standings. GridReady asks once for permission to see your Game Center friends.
How do challenges work?
On iOS 26 or later, tap Challenge a Friend after a run. Apple's Games app runs the challenge, shows scores live and names the winner.
Your progress
Where is my progress stored?
On your iPhone. There's no GridReady account. Deleting the app deletes your progress; scores you posted to Game Center stay with Apple.
How do I turn reminders off?
Settings › Notifications › GridReady. Reminders only arrive on days you haven't played the Daily Grid.
